Recently unleashed on the civilian world (from USMC), I am excited to combine my love of D&D, music, and coding into a single project. Thus Bardsong was born!

I have so much planned for Bardsong: from new Spell features to complete orchestral remastery. Check out the roadmap and stay tuned!

What kind of game is Bardsong made for?

Bardsong’s initial release is aimed at medieval fantasy settings (like LoTR, GoT, the Witcher).

Volume 2 will be an expansion aimed at science fiction, containing all new music and ambient packs for your spacefaring, dystopian, and cyberpunk futures!

Can I use my own media sounds in Bardsong?

Due to the procedural music/ambient structure and the Spells feature, Bardsong does not support external or user sounds. That said, I’m listening for all feedback so that we, together, can make the best app possible!

What’s with the music categories? Why those?

The main categories (aka: playlists) aim to capture the primary things players do in tabletop RPGs:

• Town: talk to NPCs and to each other

• Adventure: travel and solve puzzles

• Battle: fight monsters

The filter buttons allow you to get more precise with those main categories. In technical terms, you can adjust the valence (the happy/sad buttons) and arousal (the tortoise/hare buttons). These are based in part on the circumplex model of affect, where valence is a positive or negative feeling and arousal is intensity or relaxation. Loosely translated into music theory: valence can mean major or minor scales, and arousal can mean slow or fast tempos.

That’s not a question. But an internet connection is NOT required, as Bardsong exists completely on your local device!

Will Bardsong support localization?

I certainly want to! But I need your help for most releases. If you are interested in providing translation into your language, please contact me.

While I try to write unique and original songs, I tread in the steps of giants: accidents of similarity can happen. Thanks for bringing it to my attention! I take creative infringement very seriously and will address any claims as best I can.
